Bill Moore

Moore & Associates

Speaker Bio:

Mr. Moore is president of Moore & Associates, an international consulting firm engaged in providing a range of market research and strategic services to the paper recycling industry. Prior to his many years as a consultant, he held a series of positions in the solid waste, paper and recycling industries. These included founder and vice president of Paper Recycling International (a joint venture of Stone Container) and the first director of recycling for Waste Management, Inc. At Moore & Associates he has served over 300 clients on more than 500 projects. Mr. Moore’s knowledge base includes all aspects of the worldwide supply and demand of recovered paper.

World recovered paper markets bounced back over the last six months after a sluggish two year period. We will examine the market outlook going forward, much of which depends on world economic conditions. The Workshop will review recent trends in world recovered paper supply/demand and our outlook going forward over the next one to five years, with an emphasis on the impact on the US and Southeast market.

The second part of the Workshop will examine the current state of confusion and contradiction that surrounds meaningful discussion about recovery rates. This part of the Workshop concludes with looking beyond residentially focused recovery and under-served commercial sector.

Finally, the Workshop will cover the most sweeping changes in many years to ISRI’s PSI recovered paper specifications. This has been an ongoing subject and concluded with deletion of a series of grades and introduction of new grades in 2016. These grade changes, the market’s reaction and what it means to the industry will be covered.
